Maryland Rolls Past Virginia, Stays Undefeated
Terps Win Sixth Straight, Improve to 6-0
Impressive Second Half Performance Leads to Victory
COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland Terrapins remained undefeated on the season with a 34-10 victory over the Virginia Cavaliers on Saturday afternoon at Maryland Stadium.
After an ankle injury knocked Taulia Tagovailoa out of the game in the first half, Billy Edwards Jr. led the Terrapins to three touchdown drives in the second half to pull away from Virginia.
Edwards finished the game 6-of-9 passing for 103 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran for 40 yards on eight carries.
Roman Hemby led the Terrapins rushing attack with 12 carries for 83 yards and a touchdown. Corey Dyches added 10 carries for 73 yards.
Rakim Jarrett led the Terrapins receiving corps with three catches for 74 yards and a touchdown.
The Terrapins defense held Virginia to just 242 yards of total offense. Jeremiah Alexander led the defense with 10 tackles, including 1.5 tackles for loss.
With the win, Maryland improves to 6-0 on the season and 3-0 in Big Ten play. The Terrapins will return to action next Saturday when they travel to Purdue.
